# Scoring Formula

## Scoring Formula

### Player Score = Base Score x Weight

Base Score = Total Qualified Players – (absolute value of (Your Rank – Actual Win Shares Rank))

Weight = (Total Qualified Players + 1 – Actual Win Shares Rank)/Total Qualified Players

Your player scores will then be summed to obtain your total draft board score.

Examples:

Kevin Durant (assume you ranked him second prior to the draft in 2007- the position where he was actually drafted).

Base Score: 51 – (absolute value of (2-1)) = 50        Weight: (51+1-1)/51 = 1.00

Player Score = 50 x 1.00 = 50.00

Greg Oden (assume you ranked him first prior to the draft in 2007- the position where he was actually drafted).

Base Score: 51 – (absolute value of(1-29)) = 23        Weight: (51+1-29)/51 = 0.45

Player Score = 23 x .45 = 10.37

Notes:

*51 Total players qualified for the 2007 draft class rankings by playing in at least 25 career games.
**On average, approximately 50-60 players will qualify for rankings per draft class. So you can assume scores for the 30th (and final) player you rank prior to each draft will carry roughly half the weight of the first overall player.
